Hello world!

Public School Choice…is it really a choice?  To put it briefly, this is an option given to students whos’ home school is on the NEEDS IMPROVEMENT list and can choose to either stay at that school or transfer to a school on the PASSING list, which happens to be be a very SHORT one.  I along with other parents chose to transfer and reportedly, the demand was so high, that the 200+ students that were Approved to transfer to Chamblee Charter HS are going to be housed at an Annex, not even near the actual Chamblee HS campus…this was not the deal…this was not what we signed up for.  Dekalb, didn’t you know the numbers before you called and said WELCOME? So, what do you do when you are in a county (Dekalb) where you have a select number of schools making AYP and not many options available. How can our children Fully Bloom? Come on Dekalb, what are you doing?  It does take a village…

I concur with you feelings about the school system. All children should have a fair share to education.

I agree that all children black or white dissever the best education because now a college degree is mandatory for every type of job now, so the school system needs to get it together. Remember no child left behind. Don’t stop keep on fighting that good fight. take it to the supreme court if necessary.
